Artist's Comments

"Elegy" was painted for a school project. We had to design stamps based on anything we wanted, really, as long as it was well-known and could possibly be printed as a US Postage Stamp. Hypothetically, our stamps would be used as a sort of promotion for an upcoming event or new product, ie: the Olympics, maybe the anniversary of something or someone, etc.

Since I am a big fan of the Symphony of Ages Series by Elizabeth Haydon, and her newest edition to the series comes out in October, I decided to do a series of stamps for that. NOTE: These are strictly for educational purposes only. They will not be sold, or used in anything other than for my portfolio. DO NOT BY ANY MEANS TAKE THESE WITHOUT MY PERMISSION.

Each stamp represents each of the books in the current series.
This one is the fifth book, "Elegy for a Lost Star". I chose Grunthor as the character to represent the book, because he was in a certain scene that I enjoyed extensively. ;D (For those of you familiar with the series.)

Oohhh.. I'm loving those skin tones. I'm glad to see that you even added bits of red/pink in there along with the green for shading, makes it look interesting.
Did you happen to use Painter for these?

Hahaha, ya, I recently got Painter as well and I haven't used it at all yet. Which is a shame, I use Open Canvas all the time and apparently Painter is like... all that and more. Closest thing to painting in real life... only on the computer... and without the mess :XD:

I should play around with it over the summer. You guys are lucky and get off today for like... all summer. I have to wait another month till mid-June where I only get about 2 weeks off, if that.

Hmm, looks great. Can't wait to read that one. I'm currently on Requiem right now, but almost done.

Elegy's pretty cool. There's a lot of stuff that goes down in that one, lol. Requiem's one of my favorites also. :D
